Rethink

Perhaps I was a bit hasty calling for Howard's resignation - though I did protect myself with a qualifying 'if'.

The Bunyip raises a very good point as it is not disputed that the boat was deliberately sunk by the adults on board.
the government used that wonderful word "thrown". If ministers had said --
somewhat more accurately, admittedly -- that children were "scuttled" into the
water "callously deposited", "slowly submerged" or "had their boat sunk beneath
them", there would be nothing for Scrafton to fume about it.

Perhaps we are just dealing with subtle linguistic distinctions after all. The end result was the same.

(I still think Howard should have retired at 64, but I conceed now this is just a beat up for political advantage)
