October Update and History
On the betting markets the GoP's fortunes have plummeted in the last week.
Before the Foley revelations they were at a 60% probability of controlling the house, now they are trading at 40%.
In the Senate I believe it comes down to 4 races:
Missouri
Tennessee
Virginia
New Jersey
Assuming no surprises in the other states then the side which wins 3 of these 4 will control the Senate. Currently no other races appear competitive.

France's military rejoined Nato in 1993.
No the canal was only closed for about 6 months, to clear the ships that were sunk in it.
It was after the 6 day war that it was closed for 8 years.
