Builders near completion

Finally, the last pieces of the puzzle are coming together.

Dom's tip of the day: Always go with the granite kitchen. Looks stunning.

Green's come under fire at Crikey

Crikey (which is certainly not conservative) has gathered evidence to support my earlier proposition that the greens no longer care about the environment, they are simply the anti vote.

Sounds like this is being driven by the Democrats (who obviously are suffering at the moment at the hands of the greens), but even still it makes interesting reading.

Liberal-turned-Democrat Greg Barns has been doing some more research into Green diligence in the Federal Parliament and claims it's not pretty. It seems that Bob Brown has attended estimates committees dealing with environment and forestry issues only 4 times since he was elected. Each time it was just for part of one day.

Bob's terms began on July 1, 1996. In September 1996 he attended parts of 3 days of estimates. In June 1997 he attended parts of 2 days on forestry and environment related matters. In November 1997 he attended part of 1 day on environment matters. In February 1999 he attended part of 1 day on forestry matters.

Similarly, Barns points out that earlier this year Bob Brown fawned over Mark Latham calling him the PM in waiting. Now he says the ALP is the chainsaw Party and how can Garrett join it - so which is it Bob?

Yes, I admit I can't stand the Greens. I lost all respect for them when they acted like school children during the recent Bush visit. The Democrats, while holding similar views, didn't debase themselves and for that I respect them.

My Inner Geek

Try The Geek Test. I managed to score just over 50%, which I find quite troubling. My absolute geekiest friends scored around 20%, while my brother claims to be a 14% Geek.

In my defence, I claim rigged. How is listening to public AM radio geeky? Going to an inter-school maths camp during my high school years was a great social experience - we even had a dance on the Saturday night. Knowing how to count to 31 on one hand is simple intelligence, not geekiness.

I blame Queen Domitar. She gave me a thermometer that also measures humidity , which sits proudly on my desk. Without her I would not today be the 'Super Geek' that I am.

Update: My brother refuses to tick the box about knowing the odd / even Star Trek movie rule, even after I explained it to him. No way he should score only 14%..... Geek!
